    Hello,
I just went through this writing question while practicing.
    The task is :
“Some people prefer to travel around town by car, while others prefer public transit such as bus, train or subway.”
Discuss both these positions and give your opinion.

So now i am confused in this question what should be my Thesis statement?
Based on my opinion like i prefer public transit because of less traffic & cheaper. So now please help me understand that what should I write in the body part?
If it is based on my opinion then apart from my thesis statement, where in the essay should i discuss about these positions(cars & public transit) ?

    Thanks,

Hi Singh, You always need to do what the question asks. Your thesis has to reflect the answer of the question. Here the topic is transport, the controlling idea is discuss both and your opinion. So, an example thesis reads, “Although public transit is cheaper and cleaner, I prefer to drive a car around town”
Body 1. Public transit costs less money. Passengers do not need to pay for fuel, insurance, parking…Also it is better for the environment….
Body 2. Nevertheless, I prefer to use my vehicle because it is faster and more convenient….

Good question. Keep up the good studies.
